MEET THE CATS

Scroll our adorable selection of felines below. All of our adoptable cats are spayed/neutered, treated for parasites, tested for FIV/FeLV, and given age-appropriate vaccinations. The adoption fee of $175 helps to partially cover vetting & care costs for the rescue.

  • Browse the kitties: Scroll down to meet our current adoptable cats. Click on any profile to read their story and learn if they have any specific adoption requirements.
  • Submit an Application: Found a potential match? Click the application link inside their profile to submit a screening form to Streetborn.
  • The Chat: We’ll reach out to have a conversation and answer any questions you may have about your potential new family member.
  • The Meet & Greet: Once approved, we will coordinate a casual meet-and-greet at the cat’s current foster home so you can get to know them and make a decision. All of our cats are located in foster homes in the Richmond, Virginia area. 
  • Adopt: YAY! Pay the adoption fee ($175) and fill out the adoption contract. Please schedule a time to bring home your new family member and bring a carrier.
  • Age Limit: You must be 18 years or older and provide a valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Existing Pets: Any cats or dogs currently living in your home must be spayed or neutered and up-to-date on core, age-appropriate vaccinations (Rabies and FVRCP). Please reach out if you need information on where to get affordable vaccinations done in the Richmond area.
  • Single Kitten Syndrome: Kittens under 6 months old are highly social and must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with an existing young, playful cat or kitten. 
  • Lifestyle Restrictions: Adopters must commit to keeping cats indoors and agree to never declaw them (illegal in Virginia).
  • The Safety Net: If you are ever in a position where you can no longer care for your pet, Streetborn must be contacted to aid with rehoming or to be returned to our rescue network. We consider our alumni to be Streetborn cats for life!
