SPAY & NEUTER
Feline overpopulation cannot be sheltered away. Leaving cats unaltered strains resources, maxes out shelters, and dooms outdoor kittens to an extremely high mortality rate. Sterilization is the only definitive way to stop the crisis at the source.
If you see a pregnant street cat, trapping and spaying her immediately breaks the breeding cycle. Neighborhood cats only get fixed when regular community members take individual initiative to trap them. Waiting for someone else means more litters are born into a world where there simply aren’t enough homes for the amount of cats that already exist. Taking action into your own hands is the only definitive way to end the breeding cycle and stop unnecessary suffering.
Though some Streetborn members do trap, and have TNRed many cats, we are a foster-based rescue. We do not operate a TNR trapping program. Below are low-cost Spay/Neuter clinics in the Richmond, Virginia area. We are always happy to help with advice.
